I'll be sharing an update on what's happening in Washington, D.C. and try to take your questions again. To participate, stay on the line and to ask a question, press Star three. The call will begin momentarily. Please hold while we connect you to your Access Live event. This Access Live event is currently in progress. Please note that this call may be monitored, recorded or rebroadcast, any kind I was a law professor with very young children, but felt the urge to step up and serve the public. I've spent my career fighting for public interest, fighting to enforce the rule of law. My very first job at a law school, I was right after the Enron and WorldCom accounting scandals and I turned down Wall street to go be a prosecutor at the securities and Exchange Commission to crack down on the corporate fraud we were seeing go amok at that point in time. Went on to spend a good part of my career in public service before joining the faculty at UC Irvine. And you know, for me, I think saw that this country seemed like it was going in the wrong direction. And so in the State Senate, for those of you who may have followed any of my career there, I served one term, four years before being elected to Congress. But I was known for my work on a number of different areas, small business promotion, number of bills and budget requests that we were able to successfully get in that area, climate policy, gun violence prevention, domestic violence. And my wife is a leading expert in this space and helped US author 10 major bills into law protecting survivors of domestic violence and really ran on those themes as well as a strong commitment to enforcing the rule of law and helping our law enforcement out. But obviously we are facing a different set of challenges right now. Before I talk about my time in Congress, I did just want to emphasize that our district office is now open. It is going to be near the campus of Orange Coast College and that is in Costa Mesa, of course. And so we have a staff there that is ready and eager to help constituents navigate your problems when they are vis a vis federal agency. So if, for example, you're experiencing issues renewing your passport on time and need an appointment for an upcoming travel date or.
