Please press star six. I want to save as much time as possible for questions, but let me begin by explaining why. I voted no. On the republican budget bill last week. It is a giveaway to the wealthiest Americans and largest corporations at the expense of middle class. And working class families. The bill cuts federal funding for Arizona's Medicaid program called Access and strips more than. 350,000 Arizonans of their coverage and their ability to see a primary care. Doctor. Nursing homes in our state and around the country. These nursing homes are sounding the alarm that this bill will force staff cuts and closures because of the Medicaid cuts in this bill. Putting our nation's grandparents and seniors at risk during their most vulnerable years. Medicaid is the largest payer of longterm care services for seniors in the country and provides the overwhelming majority of funding for nursing homes. That often operate on razor thin margins. And it's not just Medicaid. But all health care Americans who rely on the Affordable Care act and Medicare for health care will also potentially lose. Coverage. 4 million Americans will become uninsured due to the gutting of the Affordable Care act. Marketplace. And another over 4 million Americans will lose coverage because the bill ends the premium tax credit enhancements Congress made in 2020. The Congressional Budget Office projects nearly 1.4 million low income people with Medicare will lose their Medicare savings program coverage. Due to increased red tape. And for all Arizonas, whether you're on Medicaid, or not. Outofpocket, health care costs will be going up. This ugly bill pushes.
