The administration has not once come before Congress to justify or seek authorization for this war. And let's remember why the Founding Fathers gave Congress the power to declare war. It is the most consequential decision we can make as a country. That's why the Founding Fathers wanted elected representatives of Congress who are the most accountable to the American people to make that decision. So in other words, the decision to go to war rests with the American people and not with a mad king.
