- Transcript Hi, this is Nubia calling from your union SeIU 2015. I want to welcome you to the call with our president, Anofo de la Cruz, to be connected to the call, please. Stay on the line. If you have questions after the call, please feel free to call the number. At our action center. At one 8555-810-2015. Member action center at one 8555-810-2015. You are joining a live conference already in progress. Please be aware that your local phone company may leave your line open for up to 32 seconds after you leave the conference. Across the state and specifically. Seems like every day across the Los Angeles region and southern California, so there's a lot weighing on us right now, and there's also a lot at stake for our families and our communities. But I did want to share with you that I'm so proud of how you, as union members and as leaders have shown up for yourselves how you've shown up. For your. Consumers and your loved ones and how you've shown up for your union and your community. Since the last Teletown hall, we've been dealing with major uncertainty, specifically around the state budget. The governor's made budget revise, and may was really devastating. A proposed really significant deep cuts to long term care. Almost a billion dollars, to be specific. And also specific to the ISS program in particular. Which is a program that we know not only saves the state money, but it saves people's. Lives and allows them to live with dignity. When we heard about the cuts, we didn't just put our heads down and get discouraged. We said, as we've often done, let's get organized and let's get to work and make sure that everyone in California understands the value of ihss. Nursing homes and long term care workers. Thousands of SCIU 2015 members mobilized against the proposed cuts including many of you on the call tonight. You all, as union members, made over 16,000 calls to legislators on the budget committee. More than 4200 of you join webinars to get ready for action. And I remember the day on June 4 at nearly 2000 of you traveled to the state capital. In Sacramento to say no cuts to care. Many of you came from far places across the state, from Los Angeles. You traveled overnight to lift up your voice and make sure that California was clear. That we have to value longterm caregivers and their consumers in the program. I'm so proud to share that because of your massive efforts, the legislature pushed back to rejected many of the governor's proposed cuts, including the cap to IHSS hours, which would be catastrophic to so many families. Again. I'm so proud to share that because of the work that you've done. We were able to prevent nearly a billion dollar.

Just last week, 8,275 people got Nomorobo protection!

I love Nomorobo and have told a lot of people about it. It has made my life so much easier. I am a senior citizen. It has stopped many, many, many annoying calls. Thank you so much.

I am delighted with Nomorobo service, the peace and quiet in my home since I signed up is truly surprising.

Lifesaver! And this despite the fact that it only traps 50%-75% of the robocalls. Still way better than nothing.
— Frank J, Nov 29th, 9:39am
I am amazed by the number of calls that are blocked. Is there any way for me to submit a suspect number?
— Ray D, Nov 29th, 10:28am

One ringy-dingy and "Zap!" The robocalls disappear! And this was during election season. Love it!
— Steve W, Nov 29th, 10:29am
When we receive "one ringy dingy", we say "NoMorobo"!
