This is a public service announcement from Mayor Carlo Di Maria on behalf of the entire city government of Everett. As you should already be aware, street Sweeping began on April 1. Notifications of this start date begin in March. Up to this point, many vehicles have been in violation of the parking regulations and many warnings and tickets have been issued with little impact due to this widespread non compliance. Please be aware that Beginning this Thursday, May 1, towing will be in full effect and strictly enforced. Please read the signs in your neighborhood that you will find posted to telephone and light poles and follow those instructions proper. Street sweeping is important. It must be done properly to keep our storm runoff clean, to avoid costly repairs and flooding caused by leaves and trash in our drainage system. It also ensures that our rivers and streams remain environmentally sound. So please avoid any costly inconvenience to yourself and others that by following all rules regarding street sweeping in your area and move your vehicle appropriately.
