We all face uncertainty from tariffs too. And while tariffs can be a tool, they are a blunt tool and they can't be used to solve every problem without a clearly defined end goal. And the back and forth uncertainty that's coming out of D.C. right now is really tough for our local communities. For our small business owners, our large business owners and everyday people. It's a tax on you and your family. Whether you're planning on having a cup of coffee or pumping gas, buying groceries or clothes for your kids or meeting a friend for drinks. We're all paying more because of tariffs and the threat of and that's why today I want to really drill down on costs. No one person can single handedly bring all the prices down, but what we can do at the state level is create good paying jobs, raise wages and help you protect your pocketbook. Earlier this year, Republicans, Democrats, workers and business came together to forge a fair deal on wages. Because we work together, the minimum wage will rise faster. Michigan has now the best earned sick time in the country and small businesses get needed flexibility. And this really builds on the work that we did to roll back the retirement tax on our seniors. And we're saving half a million households an average of $1,000 a year thanks to that. And we put money back in the pockets of more than 650,000 families, an average of $3,200 through the working Families Tax Credit, which today being tax day, I know helps a lot of folks in our state. Over the last few years, we've lowered the cost of higher ed and skills training, boosted career and tech education.
