But why was it necessary for Jesus to come to earth so we might have the peace and good will toward men the angels joyfully announced at the birth of Jesus? John 3:16 tells us for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. Sin in the Garden of Eden brought death upon mankind and Jesus, the only begotten Son of God who never sinned, paid our sin debt on the cross by believing and receiving the free gift of salvation offered to us. We have peace with God and are born again into his family and are promised heaven as our eternal home. We are made a new creature and are given God's peace and joy. To not recognize our condition is to remain in our sin and pay the penalty of separation from God in hell. God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. The Bible says for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. The price God paid reveals God's hatred of sin and his love for each of us desiring that all be saved. If you believe and you want salvation, you may pray. Lord I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus shed his blood, died and was buried and rose again to pay for my sins. Please forgive me for all my sins and save me. Make me your child and I will live for you. Thank you for dying for me and for the free gift of eternal life in Jesus name. Amen. God has given us the Bible so we can know and be set free by the truth.
