Press star three, if you'd like to ask a question. Tonight marks exactly one week since the government shut down after House Republicans left ██████████████. My democratic colleagues and I were in ██ last week urging a bipartisan deal that would keep the government open and help ensure millions of Americans didn't lose access to their health care. Republicans control the House. They control the Senate, and we know they control the White House. █████ and the Republican Party chose to shut down the government instead of coming to the negotiating table. And if you know my history in ██████████. I've always worked in a bipartisan way, and this is very clear. Clearly a resource actions. Unfortunately, they're focused more on tax breaks for wealthy billionaires and millionaires and corporations having made extreme cuts to vital healthcare programs, including Medicaid, And. Earlier this year, I spent over ██ hours straight in an energy and Commerce committee hearing trying to stop the majority from cutting. Billions of dollars from Medicaid, or as we know it in California medical. Now they're, trying to make health care even more costly by undermining the Affordable Care act, which is sort of long been a priority. We know it as Obamacare or the ACA. The landmark federal legislation that insured millions of Americans could afford. health
