At this point in time, only three Democrats have joined the Republicans. And so we lack the five votes further that are necessary to bring the car up just for consideration and then for vote. So I'm hoping that'll change. I'm hoping that our Republican or our, excuse me, our Democrat ████ senators from ████████ will both finally join and make at least two of the five needed to move this country forward with a budget that is in place that we can open up government and then we can negotiate on any subject, any issue, any item. When the government is open. If they want to negotiate paying for illegal aliens and taking away $██ billion from rural hospitals and rural health care, they can negotiate with us on that. We probably won't approve it, but they can negotiate. If they want to negotiate continued subsidy for Obamacare, that can be a negotiated effort. I'd love to talk about alternatives like association health plans and the like, but we can't do that till we open government. We can't hold committee hearings here in the House until ultimately the government is opened and we can get back to regular order. So that's where I sit right now. Before I take our first questioner, let me just point out that before this vote, this CR, the Democrats supported ██ times during the █████ administration the same continuing resolution. Good number of them supported the same resolution in March of this year under █████'s administration, including █████████████. But they took such heat from their radical base that now they're afraid to vote for this time. I think that has to change. Thankfully today the largest union of federal employees came out calling for the Senate and the Democrats to pass the bill to open government up again so their employees can be paid.
