- Transcript Hello, this is a live operator with housing as a human right calling to invite you to the telephone. Town hall meeting happening right now. Join John Bowman from Shanahanan Social Security works and Keith Umimoto from California alliance for Retired Americans. As we discussed the justice for Renters initiative, which would be on the November ballot, and how it aims to help seniors. If you would like to join, stay on the line or press warn to be transferred. Please note this call may be recorded. If you would like to be removed from future calls, you can press nine now. Hello, this is the live operator with housing. The equal amount of the increase from Social Security. And that doesn't make sense because Social Security is supposed to cover all senior expenses or Social Security beneficiary expenses. And by doing that, it whittles down the available resources someone on Social Security has for all the other things like healthcare, food, etcetera. And so when Carr took a look at that, we said, we need to protect seniors, and this initiative will do just that. On the books for over 30 years was a state law, restraint, restricting local control, meaning that the local government, elected officials that you. That you elect, they do not have the ability in so many instances, to provide some relief to renters because that state law is so restrictive. And this initiative makes a change and allows local control. So your local folks that know your area so much better, because Renton San Francisco is different than Renton in Fresno. That's different in Los Angeles. So Cara is so supportive of this because it just makes sense. It protects seniors. We have people because of rents blowing up, that disproportionately, they're putting their resources into rent that all of a sudden they can't live on that Social Security check alone anymore. And so they have to get other jobs, or worst case scenario, they get evicted because they can't afford their rent, and all of a sudden they're. They gotta find some other place. Sometimes they're living in a trailer or another friend and crowded. But with the situation for seniors, that is too challenging. So I just want folks to know that this initiative is going to be on the November.

— Phil K, Nov 29th, 9:23amThis is one of the greatest services offered today. While it does not block every robo call, it does block the majority of them. I am at home most of the day and it has made my life better and has kept my blood pressure down. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
— Robert S, Nov 29th, 9:28amOne of the best anti incoming unwanted phone call programs I have ran into. Thanks for what you do,
— Blake, Nov 29th, 9:48amLove it. It has stopped all those annoying calls.
— Linda N, Nov 29th, 10:13amI've already recommended this to friends. It's a great service that is effective 98% of the time. The political campaign calls always sneak through, of course. But we're highly pleased with the service. It's nice to hear calls from telemarketers ring only ONCE.
— Tom R, Nov 29th, 10:24amIt's great so far! I was getting so many of those calls, particularly in the evening hours, and Nomorobo has helped to make my evenings more peaceful without constant interruption from unwanted calls!
