We are starting very soon. Please stay on the line. So to participate in our telephone town hall, this is Congressman █████████████. Please hold while we connect you to your Access Live event. This Access Live event is currently in progress. Please note that this call may be monitored, recorded, or rebroadcast. We had a couple of submissions before the call. One came from ████ at ███████. Congressman, he's wondering whether it's absentee early or election Day voting. Has the █████ administration tried to stop voting in other states? Well, yes. You know, this administration is making every possible attempt to suppress voting, especially they're trying to suppress voting of minorities, women. They brought in what they call the SAVE act that was requiring people to have passports, to be able to prove their citizenship, making it difficult for women, especially women who have changed their names, to make it difficult for them to vote. They've also talked about bringing ICE agents at polling places. So there is multiple ways this administration has tried to slow down, suppress voting. They have also talked about stopping the absentee voting, which is a very convenient, easy way for people to vote who don't have access to transportation. Look, in ████████, we have absentee voting for no reason. Anyone can request absentee voting ballots. You can do that online. You can go to the ████████████ the Secretary of State's website, click on elections, and you'll find ways to register yourself as an absentee voter. You can do that online or by mail until, I believe, ████████████. And thereafter, you will have to go in person to the clerk's office to request absentee ballots. But there is multiple ways to vote. There is absolutely no excuse. There is no reason why anyone should not be voting. You must. We must. We all must exercise our right, Democratic right to exercise our views at the ballot box. All right, I'm also happy to jump in here. You know, the █████ administration and its allies have supported policies and legal challenges that critics argue have made voting more difficult in several states. So the question of, has the █████ administration tried to stop voting in other states, I think it's really important that even though it's still largely state and local, █████ administration and his allies who are leading maybe some of the boards of elections across the country are really pushing for efforts to advocate things like voter suppression tactics that look very differently than dogs attacking voters or grandfather clauses or literacy tests. Disenfranchisement looks differently today than it may have looked in the ███ and the ███.
