- Transcript Hello, neighbor. It's your congresswoman, Rashida Tlaib. I am calling because we're about to begin our telephone town hall to discuss the proposed cuts to Medicaid, SNAP benefits and other critical programs. To join the telephone town hall, all you have to do is stay on the line and you will be automatically connected. We'll be able to take questions throughout the event. I look forward to speaking with you soon. If you have any questions after the event, please please feel free to call our neighborhood Service center at 313-463-6220. Talk to you soon. Please hold while we connect you to your Access Live event. This Access Live event is currently in progress. Please note this call may be monitored, recorded or rebroadcast. If you would like to ask a question during Today's event, press Star 3 on your telephone keypad at any time in the system that's driven by profit and greed and they're allowed to discriminate with you based on your income, based on your zip code, based on what your education level, what your marital status is. And that is wrong. So I want you to know, as we're fighting against this fascist government, against Trump's unlawful actions and his minions actions, we also are continuing to fight against the corporations that benefit from a Trump administration that will look the other way on these discriminatory, very, very hurtful actions by corporations. I have so many other things I could talk to you all about and I hope that you're getting our weekly E News alerts that share about meetings that we're doing, actions that we're doing. And I will leave you with this. All of you know what I've seen across our district. All of us have come together, every corner of the district are now much more engaging than ever been. The sheer number of people that are out not only protesting but calling their members of Congress, their Senate and being engaged is much larger in percentage wise. I saw a chart that showed that it was a significant amount of increase versus in 2017 versus today because of the again the sheer number of actions impacting lives right now throughout our country. So I want to thank you all so much and we're going to open up for questions. Please know again, our EE weekly newsletters are, you know, really great. You can skim through it and find out resources if you're needing assistance on, you know, your taxes, on assistance with programs that might be available through some of our nonprofit organizations.

Just last week, 8,269 people got Nomorobo protection!

" Rachael from credit card services" was the BAIN of my life for years. I no longer hear from her! After returning from several years in Europe, I found that I received 4-6 of these calls PER DAY!!! They have all but stopped. The few that do get through are reported. I actually changed my service from Comcast to Verizon for this reason!

I have already recommended it to anyone who is disturbed by robo calls - all my friends and even people who I do not know just passing in a store if it is mentioned

It is wonderful to know that after one ring these pests are gone!! I smile everytime. This is one of the best things I have done.

I've already recommended this to friends. It's a great service that is effective 98% of the time. The political campaign calls always sneak through, of course. But we're highly pleased with the service. It's nice to hear calls from telemarketers ring only ONCE.

Thank you for some peace and quiet. I have passed Nomorobo on to all my family and co workers.

I have already told many friends and family members about Nomorobo. It was a tremendous help during the recent elections. My husband and I smiled every time we heard just the single ring, then silence. Thank you so much!

I love the concept but it does not work 100% - one initially the program was designed to block the calls from even ringing. Now when I get the calls - my phone rings one time. That one time is annoying and I never know when the phone rings is it a blocked call or a real call starting to come in. I have to pause to see which one. I still get the scammers come in, since they have also outsmarted the system by changing their numbers to local or hijacked phone numbers and ids. Overall I am glad to have such a system but it needs work.
