Hello. This is congressman ████████████. I'm calling to invite you to join my telephone town hall taking place in just a few moments. Please just stay on the line and you will be automatically connected. If you have any questions after the event or if I can assist you in any way, please call my office at ████████████. To be added to our Do Not Call list. Please press 9 now. Our telephone town hall will start momentarily. Please hold while we connect you to your Access Live event. This Access Live event is currently in progress. Please note that this call may be monitored, recorded or rebroadcast. We collect about ██% of our GDP in taxes. That's historically a huge amount. And that's at the current tax rate. So this is something that I strongly support, not taking even more of Americans hard earned money. So this bill provides that long term certainty because it makes those tax cuts permanent, meaning that families across our district can now plan ahead without worrying that these tax rates are going to widely vary from year to year. It's also really important that families are able to budget and save and make decisions about work, education and retirement. Based on what they know their tax rates are going to be. Some other things that we were able to get in this bill that I am very proud of is that we are offering direct relief to American workers and workers families by doing things like eliminating taxes on overtime pay and taxes on tips. Now for millions of Americans who work those extra hours or pick up additional shift or rely on tipped income, and I know there are thousands and thousands of them in our district, this bill ensures that working harder actually pays off instead of just resulting in a higher tax bill, meaning that more of your stay in your pocket. And I think that that's really important. Also for all of our families with children. HR1 strengthens and permanently improves a child tax credit, which is a recognition of the real cost that parents face. It also helps families better afford essentials like child care, groceries, and housing. And it expands access to child care. It also makes the paid leave credit permanent, which gives working families more flexibility and support. We're also in this bill creating new tax advantaged savings accounts for children. These are often referred to as the Trump accounts. These accounts are designed to help families start saving early for a child's future. Whether that means through education, training or other long term needs. And I am a really big believer in this because when we encourage this early saving and investment, we help give our children a stronger financial foundation from the very beginning. And as my friend ████████████ reminds us, we also make sure that everyone in ███████ is invested in the success of our country and the growth of our economy, which is something that I think we need to do more of. We also have included some really meaningful relief for seniors in this bill by eliminating taxes on Social Security benefits, which is going to help our retirees keep more of the income that they've earned over a lifetime of work. So we're also keeping the double standard deduction in place for most taxpayers, which is going to also help working families keep more of their hard earned money. So folks, taken together, these reforms are designed to reward work, support our families, protect our seniors, and prevent broad based tax increases. At a time when I think most of our household budgets are still under intense pressure. So I am very proud that we are able to get that assigned into law. So that brings us to poll question number three. So the question is, do you believe the tax system should be structured to reward hard work and allow working families and individuals to keep more of what they earn? So press 1 if you agree with that. Yes. Two if no, you disagree, or three if you're unsure. So again, the question do you believe a tax system should be structured to reward hard work and allow working families and individuals to keep more of what they earn?
