I'm very pleased that my Give Kids a Chance act has passed the House of Representatives. This bipartisan piece of legislation ensures that children with rare diseases have access to the treatments and clinical trials that desperately need. Too many families face heartbreaking challenges. When seeking care for their kids. And this bill moves us closer to giving every child a fair chance at a healthy future. I'm working with my colleagues in the Senate, and we're almost there, as a matter of fact, to move the bill forward as soon as possible. Our children cannot wait. I think you agree with that. And there's also some funding in there. For pediatric cancer research. So it's very, very important that we get this across the finish line to the president's test again as soon as possible. Just this morning. On another note, I tended the grand opening of the Magnolia Veterans Housing Project. In ████████████████. This has always been a priority for me, this beautiful new facility and really is beautiful. I will provide homes for ███ struggling veterans and their families. So far, we have ██ homes. Built. Bringing this project to fruition required a strong partnership. Among the county leaders, the state and the federal team, the housing, the county housing department did an outstanding job. They always do. █████████████, and also, I would tell you with Lacucci Electric was heavily involved in this. It was a great project. And again, we're not finished, But I received $4 million in federal funding. I requested that. Again, these are your taxpayer dollars, so they should come to the district. And we want to help our veterans. Right? That's our priority. So it's a wonderful example of how our community comes together to support our nation's heroes. I'm also continuing my work to empower parents and protect kids online. Many of you have shared concerns about the dangers young people face on social media. I hear you. And I definitely agree. Big Tech has failed to protect children. And they must be required to do more. That's why I'm advancing the Kids Online Safety act, which creates strong safeguards. Gives parents more control.
