So the first thing I want to say is I want to talk about the latest crisis created by ████████████, and that's this war that he has started in ████. I want to be really clear. This war is illegal. Everybody agrees that Iran is a bad actor. But to date, I have seen no evidence, and I've been in briefings in ██████████ and everything, I see no evidence that Iran presented an imminent threat to our country. And as a matter of fact, the █████ administration has had difficulty articulating what it is they think. Why they think that we have the authority to go in with a war and to attack another independent country. And so every sign really points to this conflict just simply being unjustified. The Constitution is clear. Only Congress has the power to take this country to war. █████ bypassed Congress. He didn't even inform the House Democratic leadership that he was doing this. And he put American lives at risk with no plan, no authorization, and no accountability. We've already lost seven American service members, and my heart goes out to their families. Hundreds of more have been wounded, and hundreds of innocent civilians have been killed. So last week, the Democrats in Congress introduced a war Powers resolution saying that. Instructing the White House to stop this war until they came to Congress to try to prove why we should give the authority. Sadly, the Republican leadership blocked this resolution and it failed on the House floor. I voted for the resolution. And I'm going to continue to do everything I can to end this war. We are hearing that ████████████ is planning to come to Congress to ask for an emergency supplemental spending bill for this work after the large defense bill that was just included in the ████ appropriations bill. And I'm reading that this war is costing almost a billion dollars a day. My opinion is we shouldn't be spending any more money on these serious and really fruitless offensive efforts abroad. A billion dollars a day could be paying for childcare. We could be paying for housing, we could be paying to lower prescription drug prices, we could be paying for the Medicare tax credits, we could be paying for so much, we should not be paying it because ████████████ felt like attacking somebody else. That's sort of where we're at on the war, and I'm happy to answer any questions during the Q and A you might have about that. Another serious issue that continues right up until now is the war that ████████████ is waging on our own citizens through ice.
