Please note this call may be monitored, recorded or rebroadcast. Hi everybody and welcome to Congressman Glenn Grossman's telephone town hall meeting for residents of Sheboygan County. My name is Tim with Congressman Grossman's office. We'll hear from the Congressman in just a second. First, let me tell you how today's telephone town hall meeting will work. Congressman Grothman will give us a brief update on what he's working on in Washington. After that, he'll be answering your questions live. Just like an in person town hall meeting. He's taking questions from both sides of the aisle. So whenever you have a question, you can press Star three. You go ahead and do that now. If you like, you can press Star three now or at any point during the call and you will be taken to a live person to submit your name and question. Now, here's Congressman Glenn Grothman. Hello. I'd like to thank you all for participating in tonight's Teletown Hall. We are restricting this Teletown hall to Sheboygan residents. We're going to be handling other counties around the 6th Congressional District and different nights as time goes on. I am right now in Washington D.C. we are working on what Donald Trump has referred to as big beautiful bill as we try to work for a bill which spends less money than in the past and delivers the tax cuts that Donald Trump has promised. Sessions in Wisconsin are divided by biennium. Right now the Republicans have a 220 to 213 advantage in the House of Representatives. The Republicans also have a slight majority in the US Senate. It wasn't until I got involved in politics that I realize the incredible importance of party as a practical matter, the way things work. Because the Republicans have the House of Representatives, all of the committee chairman are Republicans as well. Before bills pass, they almost always have to be voted out of committee. I have this time been honored to be appointed to four separate committees in the House of Representatives. I am on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which is chaired by Jim Comer of Kentucky. You may see him on tv. I myself am a subcommittee chairman of the Healthcare and Financial Services Subcommittee. I'm also on the Committee on Education and Workforce, which is chaired by Tim Wahlberg of Michigan. I'm on the committee Judiciary Committee, chaired by Jim Jordan from Ohio. And finally, I'm on the Budget Committee, chaired by Jody Arrington from Texas. The last week, of course, the news has been filled up with information regarding the Israel Iran confrontation. I support President Trump and his decision to use the bunker buster bombs that have been so effective over the last week. And ever since I've been in Congress, there's been a major concern that the time would come and that Iran would get a nuclear weapon that could be delivered on a missile.

Love it! I keep my landline since I have had it 30 Years and those robo calls are so annoying. I put nomorobo on my 83 year old mothers phone and now she no longer gets upset when she answers the phone. We all know that when the phone rings it will only ring once the majority of the time

I an on the do not call list, but it hasn't stopped the robos. Why don't you turn these people in to the do not call list and reap the fines for yourself??? If you need my permission, you have it.

I think it has helped, but quite a few numbers (including Gallup) get through with a single ring, which is less annoying than talking to them, but very annoying, nonetheless because these callers tend to call every day. I suspect this has something to do with the fact that I use Vonage SimulRing to call my home and cell at the same time, but I'm not sure. I've learned that reporting a problem has no effect (but, heck, you're offering a free service, so ...), which I why I didn't bother.Of course, the 2014 political campaign season was still unbearable, and I don't look forward to 2016, but I think your service is a great help, and I appreciate it.
