The i270 Corridor Improvements Project will reconstruct and improve the full 6 1/2 mile stretch of i270 from the i25 and US 36 interchange to i70 and is expected to take about 5 to 6 years to complete. The purpose of this project is to implement transportation solutions that modernize the I270 corridor to accommodate existing and forecasted transportation demands. A key project goal is to minimize the project's environmental and community impact. This project will help improve traveler safety, travel time reliability for all vehicles, including transit, bicycle and pedestrian connectivity across i270 and freight operations. To do this, the project will provide two general purpose lanes and one new express lane that accommodates transit in each direction, replace 12 aging bridges, rebuild the Vasquez Boulevard interchange, add a new pedestrian overpass bridge located approximately a mile east of the Vasquez interchange.
