Moving Detroit forward. Remain on the line and you will automatically be added to the meeting. Obligation in my duty to list as I climb or to lift as I go higher in crime. In leadership here in Detroit. And when we talk about growing Detroit, it always goes back to our young people, how do we attract and retain the youth in Detroit? And a part of that is cultivating their gifts, pouring into them, ensuring that they have the proper. Workforce development and training and the mentorship that they need to make better decisions. And so, as a city council president, I have always made it my mission to ensure that most of my time is dedicated aside from my seniors, because Ms. Perryman knows I spend a lot. Of time with our singers. But I also pour a lot into our youth because I do believe that in order for us to have a. World class city, a city of opportunity. We have to continue to invest in the talent and gifts. Of our young people. All right, ladies and gentlemen, we are here. Please press zero. Record your questions. So you can engage. She's here. We don't want to do all the talking. We want to hear from you, so please press zero and be a part of this conversation. Sparely absolutely. I'm just so pleased to be here. With President City council. Twelve years. Twelve years. Twelve years. As a public service. Amen. What does that mean? When people ask you the question, it's not being a politician for twelve years you come from a family of public servant. Yes. Tell us about. I am so honored and let me just. Take a moment to thank all of the residents in Detroit that are on tonight for the privilege and the greatest honor of my life to serve on the Detroit City Council, starting off at the tender age of 20. Six. I had no idea what I was getting into, but I had a heart of determination, a passion for people in service and coming from such a long legacy and a lineage of civil rights and social justice. My father and my grandfather molded me to understand the importance of activism. In social justice and mobilizing, and it just exposed me to a lot at a very young age. And so they taught me, as I oftentimes say, when systems don't work, you change them. And that was one of the reasons why I got into public office and then. My mother's side of the family taught me a lot about compassion. She was an educator and a nurse. So it has been the greatest honor of my life. And really, what gives me the most joy is the impact, the ability to actually use this offense. In this position to change the quality of life for Detroiters, and I think that's so important as we move forward in Detroit and we're looking in our leaders that we have to look at leadership that has already delivered, leadership that has a track record of ensuring that our city is moving forward. And able to get things done for Detroiters. Twelve years and you've been representing the city council, and you're representing citizens not only from young adults to senior citizens also, but what programs have you been working on and organizing in those twelve years that really focus in on the seniors. In our. Oh, my gosh. So I have to go back to one of the number one calls that we get from seniors is home repair grant. These are generational detroitors who've. Been in their home 30 and 40 years who are trying to get access to home repairs. And so I want every resident, first and foremost, who is on the day, that is, a senior. Who has been looking for access to home. Repair grants. To make sure that you do, reach out to our housing services department. That number is one, eight, six. Three. 1325 20. In this previous budget, I added an additional $2 million so that our seniors have access to home repair grants. I will, because that's going to be the hottest thing I see today. I want our residents to know how important it is for us to continue in investing in this. Home repair grant program. Where we talk about the two Detroit. i oftentimes hear what about us in our neighborhoods and this is one way that we can give resources back to generational detroitors that have been in their home for years and as you talk about

Just last week, 8,256 people got Nomorobo protection!

I can tell when it's working. I only here one ring then I don't even have to look at the phone and I don't have empty messages in my voice mail box. I know Nomorobo has just saved me from another annoying call.

Has worked perfectly since installation. Only two calls in four weeks have gotten through nd I reported them for inclusion in the database. A great service to remove annoying phone calls and scammers.

Aaron foss is a genius. His Nomorobo technology continues to function above our expectations monitoring our home land line system, running interference against even the most persistent robo marketing calls! I cannot help but smirk when our phone simply emits the single ring, alerting us that yet another robo call has been blocked; hoorayyy for Mr. Foss. Our life is much less stressful knowing that Mr. Foss's electronic "secretary" is fielding unwanted incoming calls, especially those around dinner time. Thank you Aaron for all of your hard research and work to bring nomorobo to life!
