Welcome to this telephone town hall. This is for friends and neighbors within the 36th Senate district. I'd like to thank everyone who is taking time out of their schedule. To participate on tonight's call. Whether you ask a question or just prefer to listen to the conversation, I appreciate your engagement. We will be spending the next hour getting acquainted with one another. This will be my first town hall since being sworn in on May 5. It is an honor. To be your senator, and I look forward to answering some of your questions. So let's take some callers, as mentioned repeatedly, by myself and Taryn. If you want. To come in. Press star three on your phone to ask. All right. So let's get started. All right, so we're going to start with a question that was submitted online. So, Amanda asked what inspired you to get involved in public service and politics? Was there a specific moment that shaped your path. Okie dokie. So I'm specifically motivated. With a desire to serve, to kind of stand in the gap between what people have and what they need, which I spoke of a bit. When I was morning on May 5. Growing up, my maternal grandmother was. A really big example in that. I also had. Been able to grow up in a middle class neighborhood through the HUD program. With my biological mother and my siblings. When I was a kid. We had a neighbor, Officer Sherman, noticed that my siblings and I. Were malnutritious. We weren't getting enough food to eat, and. He brought my mother. Along to get. On the food subsidies, which were something that we desperately needed for a short period of time. At that time. So we need people like Officer Sherman, like my maternal grandmother, who do bridge that gap for folks. And we need resources on the other end for them to be able to provide. So. That's basically where I am, and. what my public service

Just last week, 8,259 people got Nomorobo protection!

NOMOROBO actually works and works well! I would not be without it. I enjoy hearing the one ring and then silence.

Every time my phone rings once and then no more rings, it' like heaven! Before Nomorobo I'd listen to it ring over and over and over until they stopped. As soon as I saw this on my local CBS station (KMOV - St. Louis) I immediately signed up and have been singing it's praises to anyone who'd listen. To say that I LOVE this is an understatement -- I ADORE it!!

Wonderful!

I've been signed up with Nomorobo since March of 2013. Without ANY doubt, Nomorobo is the BEST thing to happen to our phone system in a long, long time. It just baffled me for DECADES how unsolicited, scam phone calls were (and still are) allowed by the FCC. The Do Not Call Registry is a joke, nothing more than a political token gesture, in my opinion. I see absolutely ZERO enforcement of that registry. On top of that, the latest scam of caller ID spoofing is another atrocity that I simply cannot believed is possible. How can phone companies, and/or the FCC, allow spoofing? Anyway, I was always looking for a way to stop these annoying calls, and never came up with any working solution until Nomorobo came along. Thank you so VERY, VERY much. The ONLY improvement to Nomorobo that I'll mention, and don't get me wrong, I'll continue to take/love Nomorobo just the way it is since this improvement may not be possible, would be if my phone didn't ring at all from the robocalls. As a side note; I am such a strong supporter of this type of home privacy protection that I would like to VOLUNTEER to help Nomorobo in some way. If there is something I can do to support and/or help Nomorobo, please contact me (I did send an email to this effect earlier this year, but never received any response). KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK, AND THANKS AGAIN.

Nomorobo has been a blessing in our house where we watch 2 young boys. One ring and gone, no chasing the phone instead of the boys.Only issue is some other Time Warner Customers hear only one ring at their end and assume they lost a connection. The phone in our house keeps on ringing. Regular callers have been informed of this issue and they wait us out.

Nomorobo has made my life so much less stressful! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Wow, love at first no ring! I recommend to all friends. When will you block political and survey calls? Those are the biggest pains in the ears! Absolutely nerve wracking! Please help me make my phone a pleasure again.

One of the outstanding products of the century! Even more useful than the invention of the phones it blocks!
