This call is paid for by justice for renters, sponsored by AIDS Healthcare foundation. Hello, this is a live operator with justice for renters calling to invite you to a telephone town hall. Happening now. Join our panel of experts and local leaders as we discuss California's housing crisis. Hi, everybody. Thank you so much for joining us this evening. My name is Daniel Anderson. I'm the Northern California director with the yes on 33 campaign, and I'm joined this evening by Leah Simon Weisberg, the chair of the Berkeley Rent board. And we're here to talk to you about some really important ballot initiatives that are going to be on your ballot when you're voting right now, the ballot that's sitting on your kitchen table or whatever, waiting to be filled out, or if you're planning on going to vote at the polls two weeks from tomorrow. So prop 33 is a measure that is all about expanding rent control in California, and that's what we're going to be talking about here early on. And then we're going to be focusing on some really important rent issues right here in Berkeley as well. We'll also be opening it up and taking questions from all of you. If you have any questions about anything that you're hearing on the call this evening, you can press star three on your phone, three at any time to get in line and be able to ask a question. But the first things first, I have a question for everyone on the line, which is, do you think that the rent is too expensive for the average person in Berkeley? If so, you can go ahead and press one. If not, you can press two on the keypad on your phone. Or if you're unsure or undecided, you can press three. So just one more time, do you think the rent is too expensive for the average person, one for yes, two for no, and three for unsure. So with that, I'd love to just explain a little bit more about what Prop 33 is and what it does and why it's so important. So right now, we have a law on the books in California that prohibits cities from expanding their rent control if they have any rent control in place, such as Berkeley. Right. There's, you know, it's not possible to expand it to cover newer construction or different types of housing. Anything like that can only cover the, the units that were under rent control as of 1995 when this law of Costa Hawkins, Washington.

Just last week, 8,270 people got Nomorobo protection!

IT SUCKS !!!! I signed up for it and found that the phone ringing one time was more annoying than allowing it to ring until I answer it. Once I answer the phone, I have the opportunity to waste their time by playing along with them for up to 20 minutes before they catch on. I tried to cancel NOMOROBO on my phone a few months ago and I still have to put up with the "ONE RING" CRAP. Can you PLEASE take me off of your list??????? My number is 228 3927513

I'm sure a lot of calls are blocked , but I still get calls under the 800 umbrella and "unknown name" and a few others! Lately I have received scam calls from the "IRS" in three different versions! So no, I am not impressed with your ap, it needs improving!

What a blessing to hear only one ring! The best gift I can give anyone is to introduce them to Nomorobo.

Nomorobo has made my life so much less stressful! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Outstanding tech. Great to have peace at home. Still start to move on ring one but have learned to wait. Wish I could get rid of the other nuisance calls as easily!!!!
