My name is █████████ and I'm proud to welcome you to this special telephone town hall with ██████████████, candidate for mayor of ████████████████ with the ███████ Democratic primary just around the corner, tonight is an opportunity for residents from every ward to hear directly from ██████ about his vision for the future of our city and to ask the questions that matter most to you and your family. This election comes at an important moment for the city. Families are concerned about public safety, affordable housing, economic opportunity, schools, and protecting the future of the District. Throughout this campaign, ██████████████ has focused his message on building a city that is safer, more affordable, and more inclusive for every resident. Many of you know ██████ as a fourth generation Washingtonian, former prosecutor, former Ward 5 councilmember, and at large council member who has spent years working on issues like violence prevention, youth opportunity, economic development and government accountability. Tonight's conversation is about you, your neighborhoods, your concerns, and your hopes for the city we all love. Here's how the program will work. In just a moment, ██████ will share some opening remarks. After that, we'll take your live questions from across the District. Good evening everyone and thank you for joining us here tonight. I'm ██████████████ and I believe leadership is measured by delivering results, not rhetoric. And my story in this city didn't begin in politics. It began with parents who taught me and my siblings the values of faith, family, and community. It continued as a mail carrier, walking neighborhoods across ████ door to door, listening to residents, getting to know families, and understanding the everyday challenges that people face across our city. Later, I served as a civil rights attorney in President █████'s Department of Justice, fighting to protect people's rights and hold systems accountable. And as a council member, first representing Ward 5 and then citywide, I've worked every day to make the government more responsible to the people that it serves. Throughout every chapter of my life, the mission has stayed the same stand up for working people, fix broken systems, and demand accountability from those in power. And I think.
