July 28, 2025New Lawsuit Highlights Over 16,000 Violations Captured by Nomorobo’s Honeypot Network.
Nomorobo has filed a federal lawsuit against Harris & Harris, Ltd., a debt collection agency based in Chicago, for making hundreds of unlawful robocalls to individuals who never had any business relationship with the company.
Filed in the U.S. District Court for Coppell, Texas, the complaint alleges that Harris & Harris used prerecorded voice messages and autodialers to place more than 16,000 unsolicited calls to monitored phone lines in Nomorobo’s proprietary Honeypot system. These calls were made without prior express consent, violating multiple provisions of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
The robocalls were made in connection with debt collection activities and often failed to identify the caller or provide a means to opt out, both of which are required under federal law. Nomorobo’s Honeypot system, which includes over 350,000 monitored lines, logs each violation in real time, creating a detailed record of the misconduct.
“This isn’t a simple mistake—it’s a pattern,” said Matt Mizenko, General Manager at Nomorobo. “These were debt collection calls sent to phone numbers that had no accounts, no relationship with Harris & Harris, and no reason to be contacted. We built the Honeypot to catch this kind of behavior, and now we’re using it to take action.”
Nomorobo is seeking financial damages and a permanent injunction to stop Harris & Harris from continuing these practices. This marks the second lawsuit in Nomorobo’s expanding legal campaign to hold major robocall violators accountable.
