Albany, New York, June 12, 2025 — In a year marked by an overwhelming surge in unwanted robocalls, Nomorobo stood as a vital line of defense for American consumers. According to the newly released Nomorobo Annual Report, the company blocked over 87 million robocalls in 2024, shielding customers from more than 98% of unwanted call attempts.
With federal and state agencies tightening regulations and ramping up enforcement, robocallers have adapted with new tactics by driving record downloads of Nomorobo’s call-blocking apps, Nomorobo Basic and Nomorobo Max.
The report also reveals that Nomorobo stopped an estimated 19 million fraudulent robocalls, preventing as much as $28 billion in potential consumer losses. The most frequently targeted demographic in 2024 was older Americans, particularly through scams related to Medicare, life insurance, and burial coverage, which accounted for an estimated 4 billion calls nationwide.
Nomorobo also uncovered widespread scams using the names of trusted brands, such as Amazon, Xfinity, and Spectrum. Its investigators intercepted hundreds of scam calls to document the tactics used to deceive and defraud consumers.
