Just a few weeks ago, I visited the state Veterans Home in █████ with Veterans Affairs Secretary ████████████ to tour the site of the new facility. And meet with local veterans. I had gotten funding for the project. But three years ago, under the █████ administration, bureaucratic obstruction brought this essential project to a standstill. Despite my repeated efforts, including introducing legislation to fix the problem, █████████'s Veterans affairs was absolutely immovable. It was ridiculous. All that was needed was a simple waiver, because the law required all materials to be used in the building that were made in ███████. But there was a waiver available if those parts could not be found. A handful of parts were not available, and as a result, a waiver was necessary. The █████ administration refused again and again to give us this waiver. After President █████ was elected, I sat down with him and I raised with this issue with him. He understood it easily.
