Brushing Scam Alert: Why You’re Getting Packages You Never Ordered
October 2, 2025Texas Leads the Nation in Robocalls as Nomorobo Takes Legal Action
Texans receive more robocalls than residents of any other U.S. state, according to Nomorobo’s U.S. robocall heat map. Over one recent week, Texans blocked more than 38,000 robocalls, highlighting how aggressive illegal calling activity remains.
A Spectrum News report also spotlighted how these calls disrupt daily life for many residents and how Nomorobo is responding with both blocking technology and legal action.

Nomorobo General Manager Matt Mizenko said the company has filed lawsuits against four companies, all allegedly debt collectors using deceptive or illegal practices. Two of the companies named are based in North Texas. Under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, illegal robocalls can carry $500 per violation, or up to $1,500 per call if a court finds the conduct was willful.
