I would appreciate it if you would stay on the line and give us a chance to automatically connect you to my live telephone town hall meeting. Please be aware that your local phone company may leave your line open for up to 32 seconds after you leave the conference. If you would like to ask the speaker a question, please press zero. Who would determine to default on our debt, crash the economy, explode the stock market, create a job killing recession, or alternatively, try to extract painful cuts that would hurt the health, the safety, and the economic well being of the American people. And I'm thankful that we were able to come to an agreement led by President Biden that avoided a catastrophic default that prevented us from having to deal with another debt ceiling cris this year or throughout the remainder of. Next year and was able to protect some very important priorities protect Social Security, protect Medicare, protect Medicaid, protect veterans benefits, protect education, protect law enforcement and public safety investments, as well as protect the American people from the types of draconian cuts that extreme right wing Republicans were trying to jam down the throats of the American people in order to avoid a default. Let's go to our first question. I believe this is Ms. Hope Gordon, who is coming to us from the Georgetown community. Hi. My name is Hope Gordon. I live Georgetown. I'm turning 62 years old next month. I have a question. Is there any time in the near future where they might be sending more stimulus check to the lower to middle class people? Well, thank you so much, Hope, for that question. During the pandemic, we worked very hard to try to provide immediate relief and survival checks to the American people to make it through that once in a century, deadly pandemic. Right now, since we have emerged from the pandemic, I don't think that there will be an opportunity, particularly with this Republican controlled majority, that right now is in control of the House of Representative Representatives, to be able to advance any further survival checks at this particular moment in time. But House Democrats are working hard to use our tax policy in a way that will benefit working families, low income families, middle class families, and hopefully put some more funding back into your pockets to.

Just last week, 8,257 people got Nomorobo protection!

Signed up a few months ago and I love this service! No more annoying calls with "delayed operators" reading scripts, or robot recordings!

We usually have dinner around 7pm and it seems like that is when robocalls start. It is great to hear the phone ring only once and not have to interrupt dinner to answer the phone. Nomobo made dinner enjoyable!
