Our purpose for tonight's call is for your officer, the leadership and staff to engage with members directly about the vote that perhaps the delegates took last week. Our call for █████ to be a day of civic action. And we want to get into what that means, what that looks like, what that means for our members, our students, community. I want to start by expressing a tremendous amount of gratitude and appreciation for my union, siblings, my family. I felt every prayer I've gotten, every text message. Every book, every card, every gift, every dinner. Our union siblings have been absolutely supportive of me and my family during this time, and I just want to say thank you to everyone who's contributed. Interestingly enough, being away from the office and out of the rat race, I've been able to kind of pay attention to stuff. One of the things that I've been paying attention to is tomorrow's election day. And if you're like me, you wait to the actual day to vote because there's something about going into the polling place that gives me a sense of pride and honor. So I'm going tomorrow. So I would encourage you and your household, if you haven't already, please get out and vote. Practice that. This particular election season, we have been inundated with millions and millions of dollars from outside interest. Dark money super PACs popping up everywhere trying to influence local elections.
