I appreciate you sharing my background and a little bit about me, but I want to go just a little bit further back. I was born into a very rural community and raised by my grandparents. See, I was born to a ███████████ kid adopted by my grandparents and raised without a whole lot. I grew up on commodity cheese. We were on and off of welfare and ultimately that grit that sacrificed that hard work, a tenacity, really stuck with me. We had to make choices. About things we needed versus little things we wanted. And that sticks by you when you grow up that way. There's an acronym I talk about all the time. It's really important to me. It's asnf. A Son Never Forgets. You know I'm the son of a failed farmer. I remember and I'll never forget. To look at my dad's face when we left that farm for the very last time. And I'll never forget those lessons we learned. One of the key ones being if you don't fight for what you have. And what you love. You can lose it. And, you know, we find ourselves in unique times today. That frankly parallel this. Our world has become an increasingly complex. We know that despite technology, sometimes we don't have enough time to communicate with those people around us. Maybe we want to sometimes, and we see that often politicians have failed. To push themselves forward and do the right thing for their community and stand by the conservative ethos and values that many of us love and aspire to uphold. But, you know, we're very blessed to live in the great state of ███████. We have a Governor and Governor ████████████, who has been an incredible leader for our state. You know, I'm often asked. Can you imagine a world? Where Governor ████████ wasn't our governor during Covid. Where do you think our state would be? You know, I usually reply about the same way. And I say, I can't imagine where our country would be. Governor ██████ was bold, he was strong, and he stood by himself while the world attacked him. Because he stood on reason. And real science, and he read the facts. And he had the courage and conviction to stand up for his people. You know, I believe that if Governor ████████ wasn't the governor, not only would Florida be completely different, Our nation may not be what it is today. It is still the greatest nation on God's green earth, and we are so blessed to live here. But that man truly made a difference. You know, my military career was a big part of what got me to where I am. You know, obviously, getting shot and getting blown up weren't something that I really wanted to do in life. But it's those moments that can break you. They also make you. You know, I learned how to overcome. I learned how to adapt. I learned to deal with things that many may not want to do. But we got past those. And it gave me opportunity to overcome, an opportunity to solve problems and opportunity to learn skills I didn't even know I had. I never imagined that politics would be a part of my life. I truly didn't. When I retired from the military, I thought I'd be on a boat in the Gulf, fishing with my kids, maybe working my nonprofit, feeding people after disasters. And that would be how I gave back and made a difference. but when covid happened in ███████████ happened really back to back we saw failed government we saw government gone awry
