Thank you. Please hold while we connect you to your Access Live event. This Access Live event is currently in progress. Please note, this call may be monitored, recorded or rebroadcast. If you would like to ask a question during today's event, Press Star 3 on your telephone keypad at any time. I am not obese at all. That was in a car accident, and I have had two back surgeries. And have a third one for neck coming up. In the first one. They would not give me enough insulin. And finally I had to say, I will go down to the ER and find an endocrinologist to write the script. And in the second one, it was the same issue. And I said it got to the point where before you tell the technician, before you give me or take any more blood for testing, you must give me insulin. And I showed them. Since I wear a Dexcom, it went to ███. We have deferred surgery coming up. I am more proactive. I spent two weeks explaining these glitches. And wanting to have an endocrinologist to be on board of the team because this is serious surgery. They want the name of my current endo. I said he does not have privileges, so he cannot do anything. Effectively or legally. And I finally got the answer was that if there is a problem, we will call an endocrinologist. That seems pretty scary to me. That the. Thank you. I think that. Thank you so much for that question. And I think, Dr. ██████, if you would like to maybe. I would love it. Sorry to be wordy. Ok. You good? You are good, and we appreciate you, too. If you could maybe speak to how ██████ can advocate for this. Right. I got it, ██████. Thank you. Well, ██████. I think a lot of people are having experiences in health care system where they feel like they are not just being heard and not really getting the care that they need. And so I appreciate that you write. Really felt like something is not right. And I have to advocate for myself. And you spoke up for yourself. Not just once, twice. It sounds like multiple times. To sort of get what you felt like you need. I think that sometimes having an advocate in your corner, too, and even if that is a family member or your endocrinologist, you might not have privileges at that hospital, but can certainly pick up a phone and talk to another physician and say, I know this patient. I kind of know what she needs. Getting that sort of advocacy in your corner as well. It sounds like you were able to sort of get what you needed at the end. yes i think ██████ is no longer on the call but it does sound like she was getting there for
