So, Dr. ████, if I could have you to just introduce yourself. What do you got for us today? Oh, thanks for having us. I'm the chief of thoracic surgery at UPMC and University of Pittsburgh. I want to thank everyone on the call for joining us. This is a very important topic, and it's kind of very dear to my heart, because what we're really here for is thoracic surgeons and thoracic oncologists is to decrease mortality from lung cancer. And to prolong people's lives that are unfortunately afflicted with lung cancer. So every year, lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer related death in the █████████████. There are almost ███████████ cases nationally diagnosed a year. And as we'll talk about, while smoking is the main risk factor, it's not the only risk factor for lung cancer. The key with lung cancer is early detection. It's not that we don't only cure people that are diagnosed at early stage, but it's much easier to. And unfortunately, lung cancer can be a silent killer and that it's not very common to have symptoms from lung cancer. Most of the lung cancers we diagnose are minimally symptomatic. To asymptomatic patients. So our best chance of cure is when cases are detected early, which would be stage one lung cancers. and if you are a
